McNutt Service Group is a full service heating and cooling contracting company located in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. Reed and Bobbie McNutt started the company in 1979 when they purchased Bat Cave Stoves in Hendersonville and began wholesaling the stoves to other dealers. In 1981 they expanded the store into a garden shop, providing light landscaping services during the spring months. Over the next few years, they added fireplace accessories, siding and windows to their lineup of offerings.

In 1985 McNutt Service Group incorporated. In 1988 a corporate decision was made to dedicate McNutt Service Group entirely to the mechanical field. In 1989 two new profit centers were established: Commercial and Service. As these areas began to develop, so did our reputation for excellence in the heating and cooling field. In 1997 we decentralized and divided the company into three large profit centers: Retail, Wholesale Residential, and Wholesale Commercial. The following year we purchased a new operating system software package to help handle the incredible growth we were experiencing. In 2003, we moved from Hendersonville to Vista Industrial Park in Arden, NC and built a brand new, state-of-the-art facility. We currently employ over 130 people and operate over 80 service vehicles."
